Large Vintage Unique Painted Shabby Chic Oval Mirror in Farrow and Ball Wimborne White 88 x 68 cm
A superb top quality genuine vintage oval mirror.
Circa approx. 1970.
The frame is made of wood with a moulded covering.
It is a beautiful shape with delightful curves.
I have applied two undercoats and three top coats of Farrow and Ball Wimborne White estate eggshell. Farrow and Ball- 'This just off white is named after the market town of Wimborne in Dorset and home to Farrow & Ball. Only a shade away from a pure white, the addition of the smallest amount of warm yellow pigment creates a very versatile shade which is just a little softer than All White.'
I have wire woolled around the edges so the original dark finish underneath comes through to leave a contemporary distressed finish.
As with any hand painted pieces, expect minor flaws and idiosyncrasies to the finish.
It has a boarded backing and there is an eyelet for hanging. There are also two semi moon wooden insets to the outside of the backing to hang which gives you the option of hanging either way.
The original thick glass mirror is bevelled and in very good condition.
All round this is a beautiful bespoke mirror and would look great anywhere in the house.
