A large early-twentieth century original watercolour landscape painting, depicting a country path with trees either side and mountains in the distance. It has been beautifully painted and has a real vibrancy to it. Lovely detail and use of colours.
I would date it as late Victorian or early 20th century.
The frame is wooden with a moulded gesso covering with the original gold finish.
Quality thick card mount. There are some small chips to the gilt topcoat of the frame, particularly at the top, but it is otherwise in good condition and ready to be hung up.
This is a delightful and satisfying landscape, beautifully painted.
Frame is 56 cm high x 51 cm wide, painting is 39 x 35 cm.
