Large Vintage Late Victorian Brass Fender Fire Guard Curb Pierced Decoration.
A superb late Victorian brass fender.
It has not been cleaned for a very long time although someone has begun the process.
Distinctive pierced decoration with three claw feet.
As you can see somebody has started to clean this and what a beautiful gold brass colour it is underneath if you are happy to put the work in. Doubtless Dr Google will have many remedies for cleaning tainted brass up.
Most of these fenders had a metal platform inset between the brass which are generally a real pain. There is no evidence this fender ever had one.
The front left foot wobbles a bit but is well attached still.
A really attractive and quality fireplace addition.
