Large Vintage Hand Tinted Print Woman Gardening Jacob Thompson.
This is a delightful old print. The original painting if I have read the signature correctly was by Jacob Thompson. It depicts a lady resting on a rake, could well be a labourer but she seems to be rather too nicely dressed and hair in too good condition! White parts of the print seem to have been added later by hand with crayon.
This sits within a beautiful old gilt frame. I think the actual framing was carried out in the 1980s or 90s but I think the frame was maybe older. I say this because there are a couple of areas where the finish has been disturbed and you can see underneath the white chalky gesso. I'm fairly certain that during the 80s and 90s frames were never made in this manner however I may well be wrong and either way it suits the picture amount very well. There is a thick card mount. The colour of the mount being a great pathway between the gold frame and the subject of the print.
Apart from the couple of aberrations to the frame that you can see in the images, I would consider the condition of this to be very good. It is glazed.
Solid boarded backing with eyelets and wire for attaching to the wall.
