Large Vintage Chrome and Hardwood Fender Mid-European Gothic Arts and Crafts Art Nouveau Deco
I suspect roughly 1920’s.
Difficult to put a style to this as it is mid-European and not a typical British style. Gothic, Arts and Crafts, Art Nouveau or Art Deco I do not know, but I guess it does not matter as it looks absolutely amazing and you love it or you do not.
The wooden base is made of a hardwood, possibly walnut.
It is in good condition, there is a small, filled hole to the front right and some wear to the very back left. I have shown these in the images.
The striking metal decoration is a brass base metal with a chrome covering.
It is pretty well preserved, there are some areas where the chrome has pitted and you can see the brass underneath and other general wear. It will certainly clean up better. But it look amazing, both imposing and stylish,
Would look great with any large fireplace.
