Large Sadler's Wells Original Vintage Pencil / Pastel Naive Art picture, framed in quality mount and glazed wooden frame (54cm x 79cm)

This is a very special picture. Someone, signed N I or I N, has done a super naive art pencil / pastel drawing of the outside of Sadler's Wells in London. It is titled "The Wells from the outside". Obviously they were familiar with the theatre and used its more colloquial reference. The well known entrance catches the eye and one can see people in the foreground looking at the entrance and perhaps the billboards in excitement for the next performance.

The picture is quaint and charming, maybe not he most accomplished of drawings, but it clearly catches the eye and the imagination and would be a perfect picture for someone with a passion for London, the Ballet or The Wells, or simply architecture in general. The picture is in very good condition and is large and is signed.

Another wonderful piece of this ensemble is the gorgeous, large, glazed wooden frame. It is quite frankly super and in very good vintage condition, minor signs of age. A lovely oak perhaps? It is glazed as I say and has a super dark green mount in it. It also has a hardwood backing and string or hanging. It has the original picture's label on the reverse.

I would date the picture and the frame to about the 1960s/70s.
