A fine example of quality early 20th-century mahogany furniture: the classic vintage bureau bookcase. These versatile pieces offer ample storage and practical features. While traditionally used for books and writing, they could also be a fantastic addition to a child’s bedroom, with drawers for clothes, a writing surface for homework, and the top for display or storage of childhood items.

The bureau separates into two pieces. The top is in excellent condition, with only a couple of small areas where the veneer has lifted slightly (see images). It features three adjustable shelves with the original metal pegs.
The three drawers are clean and run smoothly, complete with elegant drop brass handles. The writing surface pulls down, with two automatic supports, revealing a charming interior with cubby holes and a small drawer. There are signs of wear inside, adding to its authentic vintage appeal.
The cabriole legs have been repaired, with some visible filler in places. However, they are sturdy, and the piece stands well. Please note that cabriole legs can be delicate, so always lift rather than drag when moving.
