A highly attractive and ornate cast iron Victorian fireplace fender.
A really good size for small to medium-sized fireplaces.
It has a delightful aged patina, with a mix of deep black reflecting the original finish, lighter black hues, and occasional light surface rust.
The top of the front left decoration has been repaired at some point, with some metal composite filler applied to smooth it over. A black finish has been applied, so you wouldn’t notice this repair unless specifically looking for it.
On the rear left of the metal tray, a small section of the metal has lifted slightly, though this is not immediately noticeable.
Apart from that, for something around 150 years old from a working fireplace, the condition is very good.
The beautiful pierced ornate design is highly attractive and will really lift a dreary fireplace, perfectly complementing an antique or iron-themed setting.
