This exquisite Edwardian coal scuttle is a fine example of early 20th-century craftsmanship, combining functionality with period charm.
I have a number of these for sale, and this one is vastly superior and larger in scale than the others, it is exceedingly high quality.
Crafted from rich, dark-stained mahogany with a beautifully polished finish, it features a classic sloping form with elegantly curved sides that add both visual flair and practical ease of access. The original interior metal liner remains intact but stuck within, making it ideal for coal, kindling, or log storage by the fireplace.
The hinged front lid opens smoothly and is topped with a distinctive solid brass double-bar handle with finial mounts, showing a rich aged patina that adds to its authentic appeal. Its solid dovetail joinery and quality materials speak to its Edwardian origins, likely circa 1910.
