Large Vintage Victorian Fender Fireplace
Showing here is a very attractive late Victorian brass fender. It has a wealth of beautiful all round features and yet the straightness of the front also give it a more contemporary look and stops it from looking too fussy.
I have left this as I have bought it as most people will just keep it as is. I know some of you will want to clean it up with some brasso in some wire wool and if you do it will look amazing. From a practical point of view a lot of people just keep it as it is and because it has the distinctive brass gold finish still I think it looks great and will require no upkeep.
It is fully intact. There are a couple of faults to it. The metal underside rattles a bit as a couple of bolts appear to be missing however make no mistake this does not affect the fender in any shape or form,
The two top bars to the front are firmly held in situ however when you lift the fender, because of the weight, when you lift the fender up they do tend to rotate upwards. This is simply corrected by rotating them back so they become as intended. This is nothing more than a very minor quirk.
This is a truly outstandingly attractive fender and you will note the top curve to the side decoration has a four inch gap between the lifted back part and the decoration which is for resting fires irons on
