Huge Vintage Chunky French Wood and Brass Over Mantel Mirror Bevelled Glass.
A superb mid 20th century over mantel mirror.
Made of a fruitwood with brass decoration to the top left and right.
To the base of the actual glass is some inlaid detail.
The wood throughout is thick, especially to the very top where it is 6.5 mm deep. Delightful turned columns from top to bottom.
The glass is bevelled and in exceptionally good condition still.
On the whole the condition is very good, the frame is intact and apart from a few minor surface marks this is very well preserved, so please take a good look at all of the images and utilise the zoom facility to get a good look.
It has a boarded backing.
You will need to add some mirror plates for wall attachment, as currently there is nothing, their are some holes to the top of the back which is presumably where a previous hanging solution was.
This is an outstandingly attractive piece and of course would look great anywhere in the house not just above a fireplace.
