Stunning antique Victorian washstand back featuring its original hand-glazed Art Nouveau majolica tiles and an integrated carved mirror overmantel. This salvaged wooden mantelpiece showcases rich period craftsmanship, with elegant fretwork cutouts and clean architectural lines with a refined natural wood tone. The upper section includes a rectangular bevel-edged mirror framed by two charming scrollwork panels, giving this piece real presence and decorative appeal.

Originally, this would have sat on the marble top of a c1900 washstand. The wood is satinwood. The piece has been lightly cleaned and remains structurally sound but unfinished, giving you the option to wax, oil or paint to suit your aesthetic.

The lower panel is beautifully tiled in a rare set of antique majolica fireplace tiles with a floral starburst motif in green, ochre and turquoise on a soft cream background. The glaze is deeply crazed and tactile, and the original ornate brass tile studs are still intact.

Perfect as a statement feature for period restoration projects, boutique interiors, creative studios or bohemian homes.

It is solid, please take a very good look at the images to check the condition of the wood as there are small variations to colour, finish and a few minor water marks.

Would look amazing above a sink!

These will be delivered by hand by a proper furniture courier.
Delivery is free to mainland England and Wales only.
There will be a cost anywhere else so please, contact us for a quote.
This will cost us between £60-80 to deliver, so if you wish collect from Lewes in East Sussex we will refund the saved courier charges.
The couriers will arrange a day and time window with you.
Delivery is to the front door. Should the item be large the courier will need a hand your end or contact us and we will arrange a more expensive two man delivery.
It will take about 2 weeks.
