Exquisite 19th-century ebonised fire screen featuring a finely stitched oriental-style needlepoint tapestry on one side. The screen is constructed from turned wood with a black lacquer finish and delicate gilt foliate detailing, in the classic Aesthetic Movement style with Chinoiserie influence. The top crest showcases scalloped and shell motifs while the spindle legs and stretcher provide sturdy support and balance.

The tapestry panel depicts a romanticised oriental scene, framed in rich pink and blue octagonal embroidery, bordered with original gold trim.

Elegant and full of period charm, this decorative screen would enhance any Victorian parlour, boho sitting room, gallery wall or boutique commercial space.

There are signs of wear to the original finish on the frame, but on the whole, it is well preserved, intact and sturdy.

The decorative hem has been lost in many areas, but importantly, the tapestry remains in very good condition.

These will be delivered by hand by a proper furniture courier.
Delivery is free to mainland England and Wales only.
There will be a cost anywhere else so please, contact us for a quote.
This will cost us between £60-80 to deliver, so if you wish collect from Lewes in East Sussex we will refund the saved courier charges.
The couriers will arrange a day and time window with you.
Delivery is to the front door. Should the item be large the courier will need a hand your end or contact us and we will arrange a more expensive two man delivery.
It will take about 2 weeks.
