Unique Vintage Retro Painted Retro Display Cupboard Grey with Pheasant Decoupage Interior
this is a beautiful mid 20th century display cupboard.
I bought this as you see it so will describe to finish as best I can. It certainly seems that the original finish has been painstakingly removed as much of the paint seems to be on bare wood.
The medium coloured grey seems to be a chalk paint that just seems to have been sanded or wild world to bring a very soft Sheen about. As such there are various areas made it to the edges where you can see patches of wood which leaves a lovely contemporary shabby chic look to it.
Brilliant to have the glass panels sides which means the contents of your cupboard will B very well lit.
The original key plates has being broken at some point but the key doesn't work although you do have to push it in a tad in order for it to work. However, as looking is probably something you do not need to do the key acts as an excellent handle
To the back and bottom of of interior is a lovely vintage style pheasant or grouse wallpaper decoupage the sides on the back of the door are unpainted. You'll see that the two glass shells sit on 8 thick metal eyelets which are screwed into the sides of the cupboard. I see no reason why these cannot be unscrewed and put in at an alternative height to suit your own purposes if necessary as it is however the gap between the shelves from the bottom up is 32,31 and 32 cm
this is a completely unique and bespoke cupboard that someone has painstakingly upcycled. It is totally contemporary hands would look great accompanying any type of decor retro, vintage or modern.
I would consider the condition to be very good
