This oriental retro lamp features a striking green ceramic base with a glossy finish, adorned with intricate botanical designs showcasing delicate flowers and leaves pattern. The ceramic body is gracefully curved in vase style. The base is made from richly carved dark wood, with intricate details that complement the ceramic's smooth texture and natural motifs. The lamp is topped with the original brass fitting, switches and lid. It is in working condition.
The wooden base the lamp sits on is very attractive, carved dark wood. And very sturdy. The wood carving is in good vintage condition and it holds the cable/flex well. The cable is stained yellow in places from years of use and exposure. The green ceramic lamp itself is in outstanding condition - no chips, cracks or crazing to the glaze. The brass lid and fitment is tarnished from age and has a real antique look about it
An unusual oriental style lamp - no painted scenes of pagodas, mythical birds, dragons, lotus flowers. A subtle elegant botanical design set into the glaze. Makes this a very versatile lamp for various decors - could go retro, oriental, contemporary or even very traditional. Can take all sorts of shade shapes - the traditional Empire or Bell shape would work well, but so would a drum or cone shape. Obviously suited to a colour theme with green, but could also work well as that perfect green accent to many different colour schemes.
A good sized lamp - so can definitely be a statement piece in a larger room, carry out the lighting requirement in a smaller space, be a hall way focal point, or a bedroom enhancement.
The lamp is sold as working but has not been professionally tested. It has the original lightbulb fitment and cabling, but I have added a new plastic sheathed three prong plug.
