The actual watercolour is very well preserved.
Sits within a thick bevelled mount. There is some minor staining to the base of the mount and some foxing to the very top; weigh this distraction up with the beautiful gold on the bevel of the mount, which complements the frame so well.
This is a genuine late Victorian piece. The frame is damaged but very contemporary and shabby chic. Some of the original gesso has been disturbed, so there are definitive patches of white. This adds some real character and distinction to the piece.
It is glazed.
Solid wood backing and the original eyelets and wire.
Good vintage condition with natural wear commensurate with age, adding character and authenticity.
