A classic late Victorian/ Edwardian brass fireplace fender with a beautiful pierced decoration.
It has a wonderful age-worn look. It has not been cleaned in a while, but it maintains the general mixture of gold hues, maintaining the integrity of the brass. You can, of course, clean it up further. However, I think it looks great like this, and it means it doesn't need further cleaning, which is a plus!
There are minor surface marks, as you would expect from something that has spent over 100 years in a working fireplace. However, on the whole, it is intact and sturdy still, and I would describe it as in very good condition.
The design is attractive and pretty without being too ostentatious. It will add a spot of vintage charm and augment your fireplace rather than overwhelm it.
