Framed vintage Edwardian photo in stunning wooden antique glazed frame – 1909 antique oak frame, photo by William Skewes, Wigan photographer

Delightful tinted (greys, blacks and blues) photograph of a distinguished Edwardian gentleman. Not sure who he is, but he is photographed by William Skewes, a well known photographer in Wigan, Lancashire. It was take in 1909 and is signed. A very proper antique photo in a wonderful, unusual oak frame. Solid oak outer frame, with an inner wooden mount and silver finish. Glazed, solid backing and wiring – ready to hang.
This is a wonderful ensemble – superb antique frame and a well preserved antique photo of a gentleman from that era. A super way to capture history. Frame can of course be repurposed, but as is, it is a lovely framed photo for a restaurant, hotel, museum, office. And of course also a lovely photo to remember Skewes photography from Wigan.

The frame has a few signs of wear, some faded areas, few scratches, one or two knocks but overall it is still in remarkable condition. The photo is well preserved, as is the mount. The paper at the back covering the hard backing is torn in places. A really lovely piece from the early 20th century.
