The Thatch beating the working family!
This would make a fantastic birthday or Christmas present. Private Eye is released fortnightly and I have assembled a collection of old magazines. I'm sure any recipient be delighted to receive a Private Eye cover from the fortnight of their birth.
Very much an auxiliary present, a very quirky and imaginative one at that, and one those presents that the eyes light up with and not the customary smile and thanks of disappointment!
The frames are all brand new. They are made of a composite wood with a nice mid sheen finish. Boarded backing with a hanging method attached.
They all have perspex glass, but please note because of the unavoidable reflection taking photographs, I have taken the images without the glass in situ, so if they look slightly baggy it is only because they are not pressed against the perspex.
These are frames specifically for A4 size paper which is the size of Private Eye magazine.
Because of the loved and trusted low production values, the actual printing of the covers was not always to the centre and so, although in the images of some of the covers I have for sale it looks as though the magazines have not been placed properly within the frames, they fit absolutely perfectly. The the fact some of the lettering maybe infringed upon is entirely down to the slightly erratic printing methods of the magazine.
These are old magazines and on some there is tainting to the edges. But this merely adds some age worn character and authenticity. Oh, and the entire magazine is enclosed, not just the cover.
So please make sure you take a good look at all of the images and utilise the zoom in facility as some of the lettering is hidden behind the aperture. On most of them it is absolutely fine.
