This is a very attractive endearing 20th century (possibly 60s and 70s) metal engraved lamp. It is not a big lamp, so perfect for a small effect in a room. It does have lovely dimensions and detail though so would carry off a gorgeous shade and still be a statement piece. The engraving reminds me of something middle eastern / sub continental. Not sure if it is given its age, but it does have that look - brass. I think it has been cleaned somewhat oddly with brasso and so there is really lovely staining on it. The flex is very long! 2m or so I think. So perfect to run behind a cupboard, bed, or along a wall. It works but has not been professionally tested. I really like this little lamp. Sweet, attractive, interesting. It would carry off a standard shaped shade, or indeed something a bit more spectacular (but not too lagre). Any colour scheme would go.
