A wonderful large decorated jug made by New Hall Pottery in Staffordshire. Likely part of their earthenware designs produced for the growing middle classes, making quality pieces affordable. It is a lovely vibrant jug with an unusual orange hue around the top and the bottom, and on the handle, The floral detail is transferred onto the ceramic and depicts wonderful summer flowers of roses, daises and other little sprays. Really pretty.

The jug overall is in very good condition. Minor signs of crazing in places, a few small marks and stains and I can see one place where the transfer has rubbed off (small piece), but there are no major cracks and no chips - making it a wonderful antique to keep and treasure.

The colouring and design almost has a 1960s and 70s appeal to it - bold and colourful. So this piece wouldn't look out of place in a more modern space or indeed somewhere traditional. It is certainly large enough to act as a very big pitcher or it is more likely to be used as a very large jug. Would look quite stunning with matching rose or daises in it.
