Classic Vintage Retro Minty Bookcase Cupboard Mid Century Living Room Decor FREE HAND Delivery.

A classic, and I suppose these days, iconic bookcase. Growing in value all the time, these were once a mainstay of the well-to-do living room in the mid-century. Although they dropped in popularity, they have resolutely hung around people’s houses due to their solid craftsmanship, and they are now gaining momentum with the growing popularity of mid-century and retro décor.

These are incredibly well made. I’m not sure of the exact type of wood, but it has a lovely warm tone. Many of these bookcases are made of far darker wood, which I find less attractive.

The condition is about as good as you can get. There are some watermarks behind the glass of the top left panel that I have tried to blend in, so they aren’t too noticeable. There is also a dark patch on the top, but I’m unsure of its cause. Frankly, it’s not too obvious, and you can easily display something over it if it bothers you.

As ever, the mid-century motif is displayed on the left of the top section. It has beautiful thick glass with indented handles, all of which glide smoothly. The dimensions of the bookcase are listed below.

The lower section is a cupboard with beautiful chrome handles and fittings, so the doors open and close nicely and stay securely in place.

I would date this particular bookcase to the 1960s. It’s highly attractive and will suit any room with multiple purposes—not just for books but also for displaying CDs and DVDs, especially if you haven’t fully embraced the modern age of Netflix and streaming!
