Classic Iron 50s Chic Freestanding Coat Stick Umbrella Stand.
Showing here is a classic almost iconic designed 1950s coat stand with a lower umbrella and stick stand.
These were very popular in the 50s and quite a few remain, although not in such good condition. Originally it would have had chrome saucers within the three holes to the base for dripping umbrellas. It shouldn't be too difficult to source an alternative of some description.
It has a very heavy iron base which keeps the stand well anchored to put up with the weight of coats. Lovely circular chrome structure for umbrellas and sticks. Really nice that this still has all twelve of the original yellow plastic ends, which are safely attached within the chrome top.
I have wire woolled this down and given it a quick going over with some oil so the condition is very good. There are a few surface marks to the finish but nothing too bad at all.
I know these days lots of people use these as alternative wardrobes and somewhere just to chuck clothes in the bedroom, useful for those of us who are disorganised.
This is real retro gem and even if you don't have a retro themed home this would still look amazing and a real talking point. Who
