This is an outstanding long rug/runner.
A wonderful pattern with beautiful colours.
It would date from the early 20th century.
In mint condition this will be worth quite a lot of money and I have priced accordingly to the condition you see.
It has obviously sat in a corridor and has been walked on a lot, as it is quite worn. The colours are on the whole still vibrant and the rug is generally held together very well and there are decades left within this.
But if you do not like bohemian shabby chic this is certainly not for you. When I think of my friends I think probably half of them would love it another half would be shall we say less inclined to have it in their house and certainly it would really need to be within an old house or somewhere with lots of vintage furniture.
In places it is a bit threadbare and there is a lot of wear to the edges. One end as been cut down and has naturally tasseled. Although ironically the original end appears to have never had any at all. There are two splits, one going in for about ten inches, the other just a few. It is really important that you make sure you take a good look at all of the images and utilise the zoom in facility.
So make no mistake this is very worn rug, it will need a bit of a clean, it does smell a bit musty but I have to say does not smell of dog or anything bad.
What a fantastic addition this would be to your corridor especially if you have floorboards and around that frankly you don't really need to look after as it is very worn
