Beautifully Upcycled Massive French Carved Over Mantel Mantle Mirror Light Grey Blue.
This is a magnificent early 20th century French mirror.
Probably originally an over mantel mirror but would look fantastic anywhere in the house.
It is made of a hardwood so is very good quality, the wood probably a fruitwood.
The mirror has been stripped of the original cumbersome dark finish and a thin layer of paint applied. It is difficult to describe the colour but is of a light grey/blue appearance.
It looks like just one coat has been added and then parts have been rubbed down and a polished finish applied.
This leaves a magnificent and totally unique contemporary distressed look which looks fantastic with the ornate nature of the frame.
The frame is complete and in very good condition.
It still has the original glass with a thick bevel.
As with most French glass for certain age it does have some grey spotting and blemishes throughout. These are particularly noticeable if you look close up but from a distance the reflection is not particularly affected and the flaws to the glass actually give the mirror a really lovely genuine aged look.
It has a freshly fitted backing.
You will need to add mirror plates for role attachment.

This will cost us between £50-75 so if you wish collect from Lewes in East Sussex we will refund the saved courier charges.
The couriers will arrange a day and time window with you.
Delivery is to the front door. Should the item be large the courier will need a hand your end or contact us and we will arrange a more expensive two man delivery.
It will take about 2 weeks.
