Beautifully Executed Original Watercolour of a Winter Snow Vista by Martin Vinson 1985

This beautiful watercolour is superbly painted to an incredibly high standard. Please use the zoom in facility on the listing to get a really close look at the detail. I particularly enjoy the weak sun, nicely captured, behind the branches of the large tree. It is a thoughtful and evocative painting and really emphasises the winter feel. It takes a real talent to be able to do this so well as Martin Vinson has in this painting.
The actual painting is very well preserved.
The mount and frame very much enhance the painting, with the light cream with gold aperture of the thick card mount offsetting it very well. There does appear to be some manifestation of some kind behind the glass where the mount appears to be a little bit blotchy. You can of course remove the back, unpin it and give that a good wipe but actually I think it looks quite nice and gives it a nice age worn look.
The actual frame is made of woods and covered in a thin gesso or plaster with the gold finish. The gold finish has been disturbed in number of places and this is left a really charming age worn shabby chic look to it, which again I think looks really great with the white of the plaster coming through very much augmenting the hues of the actual painting.
