Beautiful Solid Oak Embroidered Fire Screen Crinoline Lady Embroidery.
A superb 1920s vintage fire screen. Glazed frontage which has nicely protected the embroidery.
Set in a beautiful top quality oak frame with a medium oak finish this is very sturdy and intact.
The actual embroidery is beautifully executed in what would now be considered contemporary light neutral colours. I thought maybe the needlework had faded but the flowers are still very vibrant so I presume the actual crinoline lady was always supposed to be a lighter colour.
The overall condition of this screen for something that is 100 years old is very good and as you can see in the images is very well preserved. There is just the odd surface mark but nothing that is detrimental to the overall look of this screen.
Rather than gaze at the soot in your fireplace and the general mess add some real vintage charm and look at this lovely crinoline lady instead.
