Beautiful Vintage Turned Wood and Brass Standard Lamp and Lampshade Working.
This is an outstanding standard lamp and matching shade.
I would estimate this to have been made in the 1970s.
I am afraid I cannot identify the wood, suffice to say it has a beautiful grain to it and it is in excellent condition. It has turned brass decorations in three places. You can't help but note it is incredibly stylish, it is both very attractive and sleek as well as not being too ornate.
There is a heavy iron weight to the base which keeps it well anchored.
It has a brass top to it with two bayonets.
Although the wiring has not been updated since the 70s it is in working order.
The lamp shade is the original shade. You can appreciate it more when the light is on and you can see the thin black strips of decoration which were ever so popular in the 1970s.
It is well preserved and in good condition, you can see some water staining to the inside of the shade, but this does not notice on the outside. It is a light cream colour and simply sits on the top internal brass work.
It has the outer material and internal material lining in between the metal frame.
The exterior condition is very good there is one very small mark to the bottom and some other minor operations which only really notice on close inspection. The main point is that it is intact.
This will have to be sent with a proper furniture courier which will cost us about £70, but we will absorb the cost.
