Antique watercolour of sail ships in a bay, by W.M. Essex - original vintage painting in vintage glazed framed, likely 1920s

I wish I could find out more about this artist, W M Essex. The painting is really lovely - sailing boats on an estuary or in a harbour. Browns and oranges provide a muted perspective. It could be sunset with the sun setting on the horizon and casting shadows on the water. There is a church in the background suggesting the scene is very likely in Britain. It is dated 1920s I believe and the frame suggest this is about the right era. A lovely watercolour with a real calmness about it. 

Delightfully and professionally framed in a double mount, gold inside edge, hand drawn gold frame on the mount, and then a very lovely wooden glazed frame. The frame could be oak or something similar.

Altogether a wonderful antique original piece of art that can be readily hung. The painting and mount do have minor signs of foxing, but nothing untoward and other than that the overall wear is commensurate with age and storage. A really lovely painting.
