This elegant Victorian toilet mirror table is a beautifully proportioned piece of 19th-century English furniture, crafted from solid mahogany with a deep, warm patina that has mellowed gracefully over time. Dating from around the 1860s–1880s, it features a classic bow fronted design with a single central drawer and a pivoting mirror supported by turned columns. The craftsmanship throughout is refined and well-balanced, with rounded corners, finely turned legs, and a shaped plinth base that grounds the piece visually and adds decorative appeal.

The swivel mirror, framed in matching mahogany, is held aloft by a pair of generously turned supports capped with finials. It retains its original glass which, as expected from a piece of this age, shows slight signs of silvering and age-related wear, including a visible but stable crack to the upper edge of the frame. The top surface of the table has acquired a rich sheen and characterful patina, with various marks, polish inconsistencies, and small blemishes reflecting its long life and daily use, especially to the filled areas on the sides of the top. These signs of wear add authenticity and charm, rather than detracting, and the piece remains entirely functional and attractive.

The drawer operates smoothly and is fitted with twin wooden knobs. The whole stands securely and sturdily on carved turned legs joined by a shaped base stretcher, making it both decorative and structurally sound. Ideal as a compact dressing table, hallway feature, or vintage shop display, this versatile piece brings timeless sophistication and a sense of heritage to any interior setting.

There are three bun feet and a wooden block replacement to the other foot, which is to the rear and cannot be seen in situ. There are some redundant worm holes and signs of filler, but again, these can hardly be seen. I have doused the feet with worm fluid for your peace of mind.

In good antique condition with surface wear in keeping with its age. The mirror is original and still usable, though not flawless. There is a superficial crack to the top of the mirror frame, as shown, and some minor age-related scuffing to the polish and feet. A highly decorative and usable example of Victorian design, ready to add antique character to a period or eclectic home.

This will cost us between £60-80 to deliver, so if you wish collect from Lewes in East Sussex we will refund the saved courier charges.
The couriers will arrange a day and time window with you.
Delivery is to the front door. Should the item be large the courier will need a hand your end or contact us and we will arrange a more expensive two man delivery.
It will take about 2 weeks.
