A rather unusual and attractive vintage painted mirror. Lovely heavy, quality mirror with bevelled glass. The antique wooden frame has been painted white. The frame has a super shape to it, and carved detail within it. This mirror is unusual and would bring some real vintage charm to a room. Currently hanging landscape or horizontal, but could be altered. Great size for a smaller space.
I love the waves and shape of this frame. And the carved detail gives it a country, homely feel. It would have been a dark wood frame, perhaps oak or mahogany, but is now a shabby chic white painted mirror. An original wooden back panel is still on the mirror. Quality bevelled glass mirror showing the original high end nature of this mirror.
The glass does show some age, in particular the silver has gone in two cornera, eg bottom left looking at the mirror. There are other minor signs of age in the mirror too, but it is all in all a delightful charming vintage piece of glass. The white painted finish is shabby chic, country rustic, so not perfect but delightful never the less. There are various marks on frame and glass, not detracting from the lovely vintage look and feel of this mirror.
Great to hang above a bathroom basin, or in a cloakroom. Maybe a small bedroom mirror. So much nicer to have a pretty attractive mirror like this in a room, rather than a modern cheaper version. This is a heavy and quality piece.
