This handsome antique single corner wardrobe is a fine example of Georgian design, dating from the early to mid-19th century. Crafted from solid mahogany, it exudes refined English elegance, featuring clean lines, a gently canted front, and a deep, rich patina developed over nearly two centuries. The wardrobe is crowned with an exquisite dentil cornice and stands on shaped bracket feet, adding to its visual weight and period authenticity. Below the main door sits a generously sized faux base drawer front, complete with brass lion-mask ring handles and original escutcheon,,

The single panelled door opens to reveal a deep, stained black interior fitted with a full perimeter of 8 sturdy brass hanging hooks, original to the piece or of similar age, making this ideal for use as a hall cupboard, gentleman's wardrobe, or as characterful clothing storage in a guest bedroom. Alternatively, it would lend itself beautifully to creative repurposing as a standing larder, linen cupboard, or home bar cabinet.

Condition is good for its age, with minor cosmetic wear consistent with use and history. There are some surface scuffs and light fading to the polish on the outer panels, including a faint circular mark to the side and some small chips around the lower bracket feet. The interior shows some age-related marks and wear to the paint finish, but remains solid and ready for use. The hanging hooks are firmly affixed, and the main drawer slides smoothly. The brass fittings, including escutcheons and handles, have developed an attractive aged patina but remain secure and functional. To the very back right of the cornice a very small area has been filled.

Delivery is free to mainland England and Wales only.
There will be a cost anywhere else so please, contact us for a quote.
This will cost us between £60-80 to deliver, so if you wish collect from Lewes in East Sussex we will refund the saved courier charges.
The couriers will arrange a day and time window with you.
Delivery is to the front door. Should the item be large the courier will need a hand your end or contact us and we will arrange a more expensive two man delivery.
It will take about 2 weeks.
