This is an elegant and authentic antique Edwardian piano stool crafted from richly toned mahogany, dating approximately from the early 20th century, around 1910–1920. The stool features a classic lift-up seat design revealing a spacious storage compartment inside, ideal for sheet music, knitting supplies, or other household items, should you wish to repurpose.
The original seat retains its vintage pale gold velvet upholstery, secured by an attractive trim of decorative braid and plain drawing pin studding around the edges, showing light age-related wear consistent with a piece of this age. The material has some subtle marks and signs of use, adding to the genuine period character without detracting from its appeal.
The mahogany frame has been gently polished and displays a rich patina with minor surface scratches and marks, again typical of authentic antique furniture. The joints are sturdy, and the stool stands solidly with no wobble. The lid is supported by brass hinges and a safety chain to prevent over-extension when opened.
This antique piano stool is both decorative and functional, perfect as a stylish accent seat in a bedroom, hallway, music room or living area, offering practical hidden storage and an evocative touch of Edwardian charm.
