This Edwardian copper and brass coal scuttle, dating from around 1900–1915, is a fine example of traditional English fireside craftsmanship. The scuttle features a broad curved lip, rolled rim, and riveted seams with twin handles—one fixed at the top for carrying and a smaller rear handle for tipping. The interior retains traces of historic use, and the surface shows a rich, naturally developed verdigris patina, blending deep brown copper tones with sea-green oxidation. This warm, aged character gives the piece exceptional decorative appeal.

Originally used for holding coal beside the hearth, this antique copper scuttle now makes a versatile vintage home accessory—ideal as a fireplace feature, kindling storage, coal storage, rustic planter or general decorative item. Its solid construction and honest wear embody the practical elegance of early 20th-century domestic metalwork. The condition is very good for its age, structurally sound with minor surface marks, one small hole and oxidation consistent with authentic antique use.
