Amazing Long Vintage Handmade Iron Fork Neptune Blacksmith Swirly Decoration.
This is a superb piece of decorative iron work.
I would date it from the mid 20th century.
Heaven knows what the purpose of it was, it may just literally have been decorative.
Very much looks like something that should be in the arms of Neptune!
A long handle with decorative swirls to one end and the fork shape to the other end.
Being made of iron it is entirely intact. There are areas of surface rust which I have left in situ. You may well want to blacken this or oil it or just leave as is.
You may have a perfect function for this but if not dissolute as grand decoration in any fireplace.
