A very quirky and original bespoke 1920s mirror.
It is a genuine solid oak 1920s frame, so it is of very fine quality.
The original mirror glass is absolutely superb due to crazing and age defects to the reflection. I have tried to show this in a photograph but basically if you're looking for a perfect mirror this is not for you.
The glass has clouding and crazing, which I've tried to show in an image. I guess this is why somebody decided to paint it and leave it with her shabby chic bohemian finish, which very much aligns with the aesthetics of the frame.
You'll see in the images that it, of course, reflects perfectly OK, but if you look close up, you'll see there is an abundance of flaws in the mirror, although as they say beauty is in the eyes of the beholder!
The mirror includes a boarded backing and two chains with decorative loops for hanging. This quirky and visually appealing method adds character to the piece. Alternatively, the chains can be tied together, hidden behind the mirror, or replaced with mirror plates for a more conventional look.
The frame has been artistically painted in a distressed white finish, allowing the natural oak grain to subtly emerge, creating a bespoke shabby chic aesthetic. This harmonious blend of vintage elements and distressed detailing makes it an ideal addition for those who appreciate bohemian, distressed, or bespoke furniture pieces.
