Showing here are three vintage boxes in varying needs of repair. These are perfect projects for you because they encompass both some wood and general restoration and some reupholstering. They are small and do not involve an enormous outlay of money so perfect projects. Or of course you might simply like them just as they are age worn, distressed but full of vintage character.
Please taken a good look at the images before you buy and remember they are being sold as projects.
The one with the 70s floral covering was used as a needlework basket and as you can see there are still some balls of wool and knitting needles inside which will be included. Both the hinges are intact and work but they are a bit loose so do need tightening up. The covering is quite worn but actually not in that bad condition. There has been a repair to the back left hand corner and wear mainly to the other corners. Very sweet bun feet. I think the cushioning is old horse hair.

One with the leatherette top is basically in pretty sound condition. The chain will need removing or extending as the top does not sit back far enough to not fall forward, I hope that makes sense. The top is studded and the leatherette in good condition. The wood is an oak veneer probably on some sort of board and towards the bottoms of each side quite a few pieces of veneer have been lost and replaced by filler which whoever did the filling never got round to finishing off.

By the looks of it the brown one used to be a shoe box. It currently has a printed material covering featuring a reptile skin look. As you can see this is ripped in places and you can see the horse hair underneath. Hinges are fine and it sits on for metal feet.

All three are basically sturdy and in pretty sound condition, certainly no evidence of woodworm or decay anywhere.
