A very interesting poster. I have tried to do some investigating. I believe this is a poster from 1977 advertising a galleried exhibition of Braunecker's work in Cannes. Showing at the Galerie Des Etats Unis. Like some other exhibitions at the same time it has a quirky phrase at the top of the poster from Henry Troyet (a French novelist) saying "Tribute to the inaccessible". Intriguing. The poster is of three figures, all quite theatrical staring into space or at the viewer ... they are grey and dark and mysterious - presumably one of Braunecker's pieces although I do not know which one.
The poster is dated 1977 and is the original. It is framed in a lovely original retro glazed metal frame which is heavy. Quality - don't make them like they used to!
The poster may be faded from the light. It is a very interesting poster which will no doubt mean a lot to someone who follows Braunecker or other French artists. More info Braunecker is below :
André Braunecker (1926–1994) was a French artist known for his figurative works, particularly his depictions of women rendered in a soft, romantic, and idealized style. His art primarily focused on the feminine form, often portraying women in delicate poses, surrounded by elegant settings. While not as widely renowned as some contemporaries, his works have a distinct charm that appeals to collectors of 20th-century figurative art.
