An unusual retro lamp. It mimics a Victorian oil lamp, oil lantern in shape and style. It is electric though, rather than paraffin or oil - it does however have the detail typical of those antique lamps with its brass ring ready for a glass shade, and the brass detail around the top which would have surrounded a naked flame.
The white ceramic base is also shaped like a lantern body. bulbous and short. Imagine a glass shade atop the brass ring, and you will have the spitting image of a oil lantern. Alas the shade must have broken and is not included in the sale.
The cermaic body has a very retro 1970s floral transfer on it - flowers in browns and yellows and oranges. These really give away the lamps true age!
The lamp is sold as working but has not been professionally tested. It can be used as is without a shade, and you may be able to remove the brass fittings if you so wish. The actual lamp is in excellent condition.
