Wonderful vintage retro metal fire screen or spark guard. Lovely classic shape but the unusual addition of metal fleur de lis in two corners. Still quite sturdy and has cleaned up well. Very attractive standard guard - can be used with an open fire (don't touch hot metal or place it too close) to keep sparks away. Great size. 66cm high and 69.5cm wide.
In great condition. Still fixed firmly in its frame, although slightly away from the frame in places if you look vertically down at the screen. Has brushed up well - lovely dark grey metal colour with hints of red or orange. Fleur de Lis are a antique gold colour. Feet are well fixed, but please bear in mind this is a lightweight metal screen on lightweight metal feet - it is not going to withstand a push or heavyweight on it. Stands firm, but due to its lighter nature can be knocked over if someone gives it a push - or a dog?
The Fleur de Lis are lovely details, just the two, but make this a slightly more unusual piece than just a plain black guard. From the 1960s so an authentic vintage piece. Has a charm of authenticity about it. Not pristine, and yet in vgc.
