Wonderful to come across this rural painting, oil on board, by the famous and well known Malaysian artist, Yusoff Abdullah. Abdullah painted in various means including oil on canvas and oil on board. He painted portraits but also landscape scenes - like this. Often showing what life was like in rural Malaysia. This particular painting is of a farmer, or villager, carrying their wares in hanging baskets over a bridge in a wide plantation field. Scenes of mountains in the background. A date on this painting is not clear, but many of similar paintings were done in the 1960s. No doubt a scene in Malaysia. The painting is wonderful and in pretty good condition. There are a few marks from storage and as it is a valuable piece, you may wish to have it professionally cleaned. Would look wonderful framed. Please see photos for more details. Signed by Abdullah
