Tremendous vintage sewing box or workbox. Wonderful example of late Art Deco (see front detail in the wood and inside lining detail) or early mid-century design. Made in Britain by Morco (see label) who made sewing boxes and baskets and other small furniture. Likely a mahogany or oak veneer structure, with this absolutely gorgeous pink interior - satin, velvet, fringe etc. Extra internal tray for those smaller bits. Quite simply delightful box sitting atop angular wooden legs. Wonderful workbox to be used as a sewing box, knitting box, craft box, decorative piece in a living room or bedroom, bathroom storage etc. Super little thing.
Great vintage condition. Yes there are marks and scratches on the wood, but these will probably stain or polish out. The inside lining is in fantastic condition as are the elasticated pieces. It is a lovely piece. Sturdy and very very well made.
Lovely mid-century piece for a home. Was clearly treasured and loved by a previous owner. With a little bit of a spruce up, it could continue to be used for decades to come. They simply don't make them like they used to.
We may send the legs unattached which will just require them to be screwed back into place.
