Both this wonderful antique frame and the very old ink drawing mounted within it are wonderful vintage finds. The frame itself is most definitely very old - you can tell by the inlaid gold metal and the wooden backing. It is a lovely dark wood frame which is surprisingly in excellent condition - a few signs of age but totally wonderful. The metal inlay has not worn as well, but actually this provides a charm about the frame - it has a slightly tarnished and worn look about it which ties in very well with the antique finish of the frame. The glass too has a look of old about it - it does need a clean and there are some marks possible on the inside of the glass. The mount is a plain brown paper or card from what I can tell, and the ink drawing is set upon the mount. The mount has some marking - but altogether this ensemble of frame and drawing is delightful and most certainly able to be presented as is, well after a wipe down. The ink drawing is quite exceptional - it depicts what I think it an English town setting, a town including church along the river bank. Small sail and row boats available to enjoy the summer season. Although the boat in the forefront of the drawing has come a little unstuck. Wonderful sketching of reeds, plants, trees, buildings - all beautifully captured in fine detail. The drawing blends well with the brown mount and the lovely antique frame. Please have a good look at photos and video.
